Every year 700,000 people in Europe become ill from resistant bacteria as a result of excessive use of medicines and antibiotics on farm animals. Prof. Anne-Claude Crémieux, specialist in infectious diseases at the Saint-Louis Hospital in Paris, advocates a moderate use of medicines and the search for new substances.
