Agriculture in a Filter Bubble
The University of Vechta organized a conference on the 28th of March, 2019 about the by LEADER project: Dynamic Agri-Foodsystem in the Olderburger Muensterland (im Oldenburger Münsterland) “agriculture in a filter bubble”. Two subjects were discussed – (1) the image of the farmer vs. the image of the whole sector of agriculture as well as (2) the effect of social media on the image that increases the emergence of so-called filter bubbles. These serve as information filter and prevent exchanges between farmers, society and other sectors.
The MEDUWA projects aims at developing formats of exchange amongst different stakeholder groups along the Vecht basin. Therefore, it allows to identify these filter bubbles in a first step and to moving forward to cross-sectoral solutions.
